 The primary phase of the cycle
 I most certainly will never, ever, ever wear these shoes within the grass, where some might get grass stains. I am going to wipe them down everyday with bleach to keep them white. Let me only run in them on athletic surfaces or sidewalks, but never on tar surfaced pavements or old streets where some may get stained or roughed up. No, sir. I'm attending to these puppies.
 This phase lasts 3-4 months after purchase.  The next phase in the cycle

 As busy family men often do, I mowed the yard one evening. Young folks, pay attention to me and don't become older. I didnrrrt think and furthermore, as that it was dark, I couldnt even really see, even so accidentally mowed the grass with my fresh, old sneakers. Having looked at some tips i did the subsequent morning, it became inevitable for them to go into the third phase.
